We were delighted with our accommodation at Hedge House, which was well located with easy access to the airport. Every comfort was provided, with flair and thoughtfulness. Very comfortable beds and a delicious breakfast served the next morning. Shirley went out of her way to assist us. We highly recommend this lovely, high quality B&B.

In April 2022 I was fortunate to pass a few days in the Hedge House. It was such a lovely place to stay - I cannot imagine a nicer one in Cape Town. I loved the beautiful setting in the peaceful garden with trees and plants of all kind. My room was spacious, immaculate clean and most comfortable, the fresh flowers and fruit on the desk and the home baked rusks in the cupboard a delight. Everything made me feel at home from the beginning. Many thanks to the wonderful host Shirley who spoils her guests with a very warm welcome and not to forget with a delicious breakfast offered in the tastefully decorated living room. She does everything to fulfill one's wishes and contributes so much to an unforgettable holiday. I enjoyed each moment and hope having the opportunity to come back.

I was warmly welcomed there.  The entire staff is really friendly and helpful. 

The breakfast was excellent and I was able to feed vegetarian.  If you have allergies or eat vegan, you should just let them know in advance.  You are very well catered for!

What I especially loved about this hotel are the many trees.  It had a very relaxing effect on me.

This is a charming guesthouse with wonderful service and good food.
The room was luxurious and quiet, the breakfast was outstanding, always fresh,
healthy and included one or two treats. Shirley could not have been more accommodating
and went our of her way to make my stay comfortable.

My father and I spent a week at Hedge House in September 2020.
We came back to Cape Town for the months of March and April 2021, and there was no doubt where we would stay. This is simple .. the best place possible.
Judy and Shirley have created a haven of tranquility in Rondebosch. It is conveniently located, has the most comfortable and luxurious bedrooms, and the breakfasts are a treat to look forward to every morning. Shirley has looked after us so professionally and in the most kind and caring manner.
To be able to walk down to Keurboom park and the Rondebosch Boys High playing fields every afternoon has been a special bonus for us and my dogs.

Shirley is a such a lovely and considerate host, her breakfast was super delicious.
I utterly enjoyed my stay here!
Will definitely be back again.

A Very Happy Birthday, Judy ! I'd like to say a few words on behalf of all the guests who've been staying in Hedge House over the years and to whom you and this place represents a home away from home in Cape Town. You mean so much to so many people, and I have returned here - now again escaping the frozen North of Scandinavia- many times. Our youngest, Philip , who's 13 , said just this morning that he prefers to stay - not in grand hotels but at Hedge House where he knows everybody, everybody knows him, there are the dogs, the pool - and Betty's kitchen ! What more could you wish for ? Betty's buns and omelettes are well known in our household, and always measured against the real thing - but I know I can never live up to the original. This is a happy, warm place and even if it is the most well known gate code in CT, one feels safe here.
I remember the first time I came - I had just arrived off the overnight flight and felt tired and jet lagged , and you just looked at me and said : you look like someone who could do with a good long walk and fresh air. And you then took me off to Kirstenbosch and marched me up the mountain ! You are a great reader of people, and this is such a professional but personal home which you let us all be part of - thank you so much, Judy.

My favourite place in Cape Town!
I stayed in Hedge House for three weeks in the end of 2020 till mid January 2021.
It was beautiful experience. Great place which gives feeling of South Africa.
Delicious breakfast, very comfortable rooms and the whole experience was just perfect.
The beaches were closed for a while but still we could travel easily do the hikes and safari.
Not many tourists but still almost everything was open.
Highly recommended place with kind and openhearted hospitality.
We loved it!

It's a wonderful little gem!
Shirley was absolutely wonderful, she welcomed my little family, as well as our dog with so much warmth.
The homemade biscuits in the room was a nice surprise, the breakfast every morning was a treat and the swimming pool was a most everyday!
