We were here for a two week period and found everyone attentive and focused on making our stay as comfortable as possible
Breakfast every day was amazing and a real treat. The property itself is cosy, homely and safe. Great hosts

This BnB is amazing, the staff is exceptional. Breakfast was very good. My room was upstairs but, i received help to carry my luggage up and down the stairs. Judy even offered me ride to the office, such a lovely soul.
Nothing really threw me off. The BnB maintain its vintage style which gives it a homely and warm feeling. it makes you feel like you belong.

We loved our stay, our beds were so comfortable and our room had everything we needed, we felt so at ease and Judy was so friendly, allowing the kids to run around the garden. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, fresh crumpets - the kids highlight!

The best guest house I have visited! Good location with a nice garden and a great pool. Beautiful flowers and a nice decoration everywhere. The rooms are comfortable with very good beds. Everything is clean and fresh. The staff are friendly and the food is fantastic. I will definitely come back.

Judy was an excellent host and so accommodating. Right from the time we booked our stay, to our arrival, she communicated well with us. The location was excellent and Ubers were reasonable to get into the city.

Rooms upstairs were accessed via spiral staircases outside the main house which may not be suitable if you are elderly or have very young children - it wasn’t a problem for us, as our children are teenagers. Judy did check this with us prior to arrival.

Our stay at Hedge House was wonderful. Judy and her staff made us feel at home. The rooms are lovely, very comfortable beds. Breakfast was delicious with eggs cooked to order. We had everything we needed including a magnificent view of Table Mountain. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Best place to start your SA trip smoothly and relaxed. Super nice communication via WhatsApp and the check-in was so nice, even though we arrived in the middle of the night. A very warm welcome! Breakfast also delicious, bed slept well, all in all highly recommended 🙏🏻

Amazing place to stay with the family. The host is are very warm and friendly person. Her house was built by herself and the rooms have good finishes and are well maintained. Her grown up children are also (partially)involved in the hospitality team. We decided to stay in that part of Capetown due to the vicinity of the schools. The area is safe, and surrounded by beautiful parks with tennis courts and lovely views. After the first meal, we decided to have supper almost everyday at Hedge House. One of her children supplies delicious pork from his own farm. Arguably the best in the country. The culinary achievements of the team are surpassing every imaginable expectation.

In April 2022 I was fortunate to pass a few days in the Hedge House. It was such a lovely place to stay - I cannot imagine a nicer one in Cape Town. I loved the beautiful setting in the peaceful garden with trees and plants of all kind. My room was spacious, immaculate clean and most comfortable, the fresh flowers and fruit on the desk and the home baked rusks in the cupboard a delight. Everything made me feel at home from the beginning. Many thanks to the wonderful host Shirley who spoils her guests with a very warm welcome and not to forget with a delicious breakfast offered in the tastefully decorated living room. She does everything to fulfill one's wishes and contributes so much to an unforgettable holiday. I enjoyed each moment and hope having the opportunity to come back.

"As a first time visitor to Cape Town, I had the most amazing and warm welcome I could imagine at Hedge House. The guesthouse is located in such a green and nice area. Perfect for rest, perfect spot for getting, everywhere! Also the luxury of nice spots in walking (safe) distance. I had the pleasure of being there first with Judy and then Shirley, and both are a delight and with so much knowledge and stories. The house is beautiful, peaceful, and my room was ever so relaxing - and my luck, with a great view of Table Mountain. I really felt welcome, at home and there was nothing I felt I couldn't ask, and a way would be found. Whether it's for a short stay (business) or a little longer, like I did, it's an amazing place where you can feel at home. And oh, the amazing freshly baked breakfast treats! So so good."

A Very Happy Birthday, Judy ! I'd like to say a few words on behalf of all the guests who've been staying in Hedge House over the years and to whom you and this place represents a home away from home in Cape Town. You mean so much to so many people, and I have returned here - now again escaping the frozen North of Scandinavia- many times. Our youngest, Philip , who's 13 , said just this morning that he prefers to stay - not in grand hotels but at Hedge House where he knows everybody, everybody knows him, there are the dogs, the pool - and Betty's kitchen ! What more could you wish for ? Betty's buns and omelettes are well known in our household, and always measured against the real thing - but I know I can never live up to the original. This is a happy, warm place and even if it is the most well known gate code in CT, one feels safe here.
I remember the first time I came - I had just arrived off the overnight flight and felt tired and jet lagged , and you just looked at me and said : you look like someone who could do with a good long walk and fresh air. And you then took me off to Kirstenbosch and marched me up the mountain ! You are a great reader of people, and this is such a professional but personal home which you let us all be part of - thank you so much, Judy.
